ABOUT WCAT RADIO
In 2005, our owner was in High School at Schley County High School in Ellaville, Ga. He was in pursuit of a High School Diploma. Along with football & other various clubs within the high school, he never thought about the future, much less 15 years in the future!
He had began to get closer to the Lord & doing things with his youth group at County Line Baptist Church in Ideal Ga. He never knew that the Lord would talk directly to people.
Needless to say, that's exactly what happened.
Fast forward to Senior English class. During his senior project he had to follow closely a local radio DJ. Its here that he learned the ins & outs of being a radio personality. The Lord began to reveal things to him through dreams, just as He did to Joseph in scripture.

The Lord began to work within Lance. Lance began to dream of things that, at the time, was the last thing on his mind. The Lord gave him strict instructions to do something. Lance just pushed Him off, it wasn't in Lance's agenda, plans, or even desires.

Once in college, the Lord again began to work through Lance. The dreams returned & ministry opportunities opened up in several areas, one of which was Youth Ministry. While still in college, Lance along with his, at the time fiance, started working with area youth.
As a project in a Marketing Class, at the local college, he had to come up with a business, a model, & several scenarios in which the business would or could take. The Lord spoke yet again to Lance, but this time is was more direct. Using that single project, He opened Lance's eyes as to what the Lord had for him in the future.

With several starts & stalls, Lance's time line & God's timeline never would line up. Life began to be a real deal! He & his fiance were married, a year later their 1st child, a boy, was born. A change in jobs, a change in his church ministry, left Lance's vision of WCAT Radio in the rear view mirror. 5 years later a beautiful baby girl entered the world, bouncy, sweet, and the absolute best thing to happen in a long time.

The Lord seemed to have stopped speaking to Lance. The dreams were gone, the voice of God faint most times, but he never got too far away from the vision & words the Holy Spirit gave him several years ago. Lance began to work 2 jobs to support their growing family. One of the jobs was a radio personality on another local station, WMNZ 1050am in Montezuma, Ga. Its here that the Lord began to use the station owner & manager to pour into Lance. The business end of running & maintaining a radio station was coming into full effect! At the time of beginning employment, Lance couldn't see the Lords plan here, as he was in a rutt & looking for something else, that something else was WCAT Radio.
As he began to get more involved in the daily operations of WMNZ there were other changes that the Lord had coming for him. One of which was laying youth ministry down. After nearly 6 years of ministry, Lance & his wife made the decision to follow what the Lord had for them. With laying down youth ministry it opened another door in their lives. One that no one could have ever imagined.
Lance had just lost his granddaddy & things seemed as if they were spiraling out of control. The Lord moved them from the comfort zone of a Southern Baptist church to now, bouncing around to different churches in the area. They began to seek the Lord again now with more vigor than ever. The Lord allowed them to see the different churches in the area before landing them at a local church that was absolutely out of Lance's comfort zone. A non-denominational church that was completely opposite of what he had been used to.

Overflow Worship Center in Ellaville opened its doors to Lance & his little family! Its here that Lance began to hear & see things he had only read about in scripture. The "gifts" of the Lord were running rampant in this little store front church! The pastors began to pour into Lance & his family, they began to be more open & receptive to what the Lord was doing in their lives. The Lord began to minister to them, opening children's ministry doors within the church. The closer Lance got to the Lord, the more He began to once again reveal. "It's like He just picked right back up where He left off!" Lance says in his testimony.

The way the Lord began to work in his life was nothing short of a modern day miracle. Once the ministry doors were opened again, the little family of 4 was about to be a family of 5. They welcomed a baby boy to the world just as things began to shift in the Lords favor. The church found a more permanent children's minister but that didn't stop Lance & the Lords close relationship. Lance dug into the word more & more, the Lord began to give more & more visions & dreams!

One of which was to start a ministry style podcast! This was started & born was WCAT Podcast - Straight From The Source. This podcast lasted about 3 months before the enemy threw a kink in the plans! Lance resigned from a mediocre job & began to turn his focus over to money & possessions. He had everything he needed it seemed, a beautiful wife, 3 amazing kids, a money making job, & was starting back in youth ministry so that he could keep that image at church. The Podcast began to slip farther & farther to the back burner, as did church.

After about 1 year & half of backsliding, the lucrative job went away & Lance began to do odd end jobs until he landed a position that was way less than his previous. The ministry he was involved in began to crumble under his feet. He was doing things his way & not the way of the Lord. After a few months he & his wife quit the youth ministry & began to withdraw from the church that had loved on him so much. He was, yet again, not hearing from the Lord.

While in between jobs he took a job within the Schley County School system as part of the Maintenance crew for all of the campuses. As he was there, the supervisor came to know Lance very well. The two hit it off! They both had one common goal, the up keep of the system. The supervisor would talk to Lance about his relationship with Christ. The whole time Lance was thinking in his mind that he had been burned once & it wasn't going to happen again, so he kept his distance within the church. Within the month or so of employment at Schley County School System, the supervisor kept working on Lance. But it wasn't just him, the Lord was working within him as well. Bringing him back slowly to Him.

One lunch, Lance sat with the supervisor and admired the old relic of the Schley County High School Press box that sat above Wildcat field for nearly 20 years. The question was asked if it was for sale & the answer was an outstanding "Yes! its for sale. Ill get you a price on it." That was that, & all was left until Lance told his wife that he was planing on buying the Press box. Her answer was, "Umm no, we are barely able to support our selves. we don't have the extra money, plus its hideous!" That ended that!
Well that is until Overflow Worship Center had a revival. At this revival was a modern day prophet & great friend of the church. It was prophesied over Lance that he would be the one to bring music & joy to the area through the airwaves. Everyone that knew what the Lord had told Lance was standing in shock because there was no way that anyone outside of a small circle knew this. It was at this revival that the Lord again began to soften Lance's heart & mold him back to the man He had made Lance before the enemy took over.

In the mean time, Lance had turned back towards the Lord & His plan for WCAT through Lance. Being the man of the house & the provider & ultimate
answer-er of his families spiritual well being, Lance cemented his family back in church & allowed the Lord to pour into & mold him into a better image. The whole while, his wife was being formed as well. The Lord gave Lance another shot at a great job. But it required going back to the radio station WMNZ 1050am part time.

While at the new occupation, the Lord began to use a fellow pastor, the late Pastor Roy Cobb, to pour into Lance Monday thru Friday. Pastor Roy was a visionary of God as well, he spoke things into Lance's life that no body could have ever known, little did he know, Lance was struggling with deep concern & drawback for things done in the past.

Jump to 2018...
WCAT Radio was set to be reintroduced as a weekly podcast! This was the Lords plan. Within 3 months there were sponsors on board to be sure this could happen for the area. The 1st 2 sponsors of WCAT Radio - The River - were Southern Automotive in Ellaville & Marty's New & Used Tires in Americus. The Lord used them to encourage at the time when Lance thought it was all about to fail again.
After having his good friend & mentor Pastor Roy, construct a radio station building specifically for WCAT Radio, it was pulled out from under WCAT & Lance by legalities.
Lance says, "I went home & prayed for the Lord to provide & not allow this work to fail. He spoke to me in that minute & said, 'Go by the high school & look what I will give you for staying in obedience to me.' I immediately knew what it was. I got off of the couch & took that drive to the high school! Again the Lord said 'Go in!' as i went in I was overwhelmed, the work this thing (press box) needed was way more than my ability & knowledge. Not to mention, how am I going to get that thing 7 miles to the house? again that small still voice said, 'Ask & it shall be given, seek me. I will work this out in my time."
The day that it was revealed that the building was no longer an option, within hours an email came across Lance's computer screen from the Superintendent of none other than Schley County Schools. Within this email were words of advice, words of wisdom, encouragement, & the opportunity to purchase the Press Box. He went home that evening & told his wife what the Lord was going to give him. Her response was completely different than before. 'Yea I know!'

Fast forward a few months & only $250 later (which the Lord gave him from sponsors) The Lord sent R&L Towing & Recovery to transport the Press Box to its permanent location. After 10 hours of transport & delivery for the mere 7 mile north trip, it was delivered! But there was a problem, R&L was not set up to remove a huge Press box from a steel transportation trailer. There it sat for nearly 3 more months.

Within these 3 moths, the Lord allowed Lance to learn some carpentry skills via his pal Pastor Roy Cobb on the job. The Lord also sent more encouragement through sponsors & churches in the area wanting to be part of the station in any way possible. God brought us mercy & grace with the on coming of sponsors like, Waterboy's Bait & Tackle in Americus Ga., Flint River Pharmacy in Montezuma Ga., Watson-Giddens & Watson-Tante Funeral Homes in Ellaville & Buena Vista Ga., He gave us the prayers of churches like, Overflow Worship Center, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Ebenezer Baptist Church, & Life Point Church.

The encouragement of all the sponsors & churches made Lance know that Gods hands were in this & he had to see where the Holy Spirit led the station. On Halloween weekend of 2018, Buck Creek Estates showed up & removed the Press Box from its hauling trailer & provisions began to be made to rebuild the press box from an office to a place that will always have laughter, music, preaching, & the presence of God. A team effort, the entire family has had a hand in something, from the painting, to the rebuilding of walls, to the decorating. Everyone is on board for this project of God!
Thanksgiving weekend the renovations were completed & it came time to power the Press Box! Pastor Roy had not given any insight as to how this was going to happen, he never got the chance to teach Lance the power side of construction. The Lord again showed out when he sent Pastor Jamie Grantham to the rescue. With his deep knowledge of electricity he was able to give to the project as well by wiring the Press box to the power grid!

December 31, 2018
The project is completed, the Lord again sent people into Lances life to be sure it got done. Levi Cowan built a set of computers to run the station & any recording that was to be done. Levi is still on call in case of that Digital emergency!!!
Launch day arrives on January 2, 2019
After trial & error, the station finally gets "ONLINE" Status. A few hiccups later and WCAT Radio is Born!
